FAQ

Identity & fit

What exactly is Deliwell and what problem does it solve?

Deliwell is a cloud-based Transport Management System (TMS) built for logistics teams operating in Romania and Europe. It replaces the daily chaos of spreadsheets, email chains, and manual ANAF portal uploads with a single platform that gives you full, real-time control over every shipment — from transport order creation to final delivery confirmation.

The core problem Deliwell solves: logistics teams in Romania are managing more regulatory complexity, more transport volume, and more partner relationships than their tools were built to handle. e-Transport declarations, e-CMR documentation, multi-carrier coordination, and real-time customer visibility demands are all rising simultaneously. Deliwell is the platform built specifically to absorb that complexity — so your team spends less time on administration and more time moving freight.

Who is Deliwell built for?

Deliwell is designed for logistics managers, transport coordinators, and supply chain directors at mid-size and enterprise companies who move goods in or through Romania and the EU. Our customers typically:

  • Run 10–500+ transport operations per day
  • Use a mix of own fleet and external carriers
  • Are under pressure to comply with e-Transport and/or e-CMR regulations
  • Need real-time shipment visibility for internal teams and customers
  • Are growing beyond what Excel and email can reliably handle

Current clients span manufacturing, distribution, FMCG, automotive, and industrial goods — including Sonepar, Hamilton, Frigoglass, DS Smith, Stihl, and Inteva.

How is Deliwell different from other TMS platforms?

Most TMS platforms were built for Western European or global markets but fall short when it comes to the regulatory complexity of operating across EU member states. Deliwell is different in three ways:

1. Built for European operations, compliant where it matters.

Deliwell integrates EU regulatory requirements — e-Transport, e-CMR, e-Invoice, and country-specific mandates — natively into the platform, not as afterthoughts. Where competitors like Transporeon or SAP TM require costly local add-ons or workarounds, Deliwell handles cross-border compliance out of the box.

2. Mid-market speed, enterprise depth.

Large TMS platforms take 6–18 months to implement. Deliwell is live in 1–2 weeks for standard setups, up to 4–6 weeks with ERP integration. You get enterprise-grade features — RBAC, ERP/EDI integration, multi-entity support — without the enterprise implementation pain.

3. Regulatory expertise, not a call centre.

When ANAF or any EU authority updates its requirements, our compliance team updates the platform — proactively, before it affects your operations. No support tickets. No waiting.

What makes Deliwell specifically built for EU regulatory compliance?

Operating across EU member states involves a unique combination of regulatory, operational, and cross-border requirements that generic TMS platforms don't address natively. Deliwell was built with these realities at its core:

Regulatory: Native e-Transport integration with ANAF (UIT generation, validation, partner management, status monitoring).

Operational: Designed for the reality of European logistics — mixed fleets, third-party CEE and international carriers, road-dominant transport flows, and cross-border trucking within and beyond the EU.

Compliance currency: When ANAF updates e-Transport rules or the EU updates e-CMR protocols, Deliwell ships the update as part of your subscription — proactively, before it affects your operations. No manual workarounds required.

Can we use Deliwell if our company is based in the EU but outside Romania?

Yes. Deliwell is used by companies headquartered across Europe — including Germany, Austria, and other EU member states — who operate transport in or through Romania, or who work with Romanian carriers and logistics partners.

The platform is fully functional in English and Romanian, with multi-currency and multi-language support for operational documents. If you have transport flows that touch Romania and need e-Transport compliance, or if your Romanian subsidiary needs a TMS that integrates with your European parent's ERP, Deliwell is a strong fit.

For EU-based companies without Romanian operations: Deliwell also supports standard European transport management, planning, carrier coordination, and e-CMR — making it a viable TMS for logistics teams across the EU even if e-Transport compliance is not your primary driver.

Compliance & regulation

Is e-Transport compliance fully handled inside Deliwell?

Yes — the full e-Transport lifecycle is managed natively inside Deliwell, without any need to log into the ANAF portal separately. This covers:

  • UIT generation — automatically created from the transport order data already in the system
  • ANAF submission — direct API integration, not manual upload
  • Status tracking — real-time confirmation of UIT validation status
  • Partner management — sender, recipient, and carrier data maintained in one place
  • Reporting & audit trail — full e-Transport history, exportable for ANAF inspections

When ANAF updates e-Transport requirements, Deliwell ships the compliance update as part of your subscription — no additional cost, no manual workaround.

Does Deliwell support e-CMR (electronic consignment notes)?

Yes. Deliwell is one of the few TMS platforms with native e-CMR support. Digital consignment notes are generated, signed by all parties (sender, carrier, recipient), and archived — all within the platform. They are legally valid and accepted across EU borders under the e-CMR protocol.

Key benefits in practice:

  • No paper CMR to print, chase, or file
  • Drivers confirm delivery via mobile — the e-CMR is closed automatically
  • Your logistics team and customers get proof of delivery in real time
  • Archive is always complete and audit-ready

e-CMR is part of the standard Deliwell subscription — not a paid add-on.

What happens if e-Transport or e-CMR regulations change?

Regulatory updates are monitored by our compliance and product teams as a core part of what we do. When ANAF updates e-Transport specifications — new fields, changed validation rules, updated UIT formats — or when EU e-CMR protocols are revised, Deliwell ships the update to all customers automatically as part of the subscription.

You never need to track ANAF changelog documents yourself. Your platform is always compliant. If a major regulatory change is coming, we communicate it proactively — with advance notice of what's changing and when — so your operations team is prepared, not surprised.

Platform features

What are the core features of the Deliwell platform?

Deliwell covers the full transport operation in one platform:

  • Transport order management — create, assign, and track orders from a single dashboard
  • Route planning & optimisation — multi-stop planning with vehicle and driver assignment
  • Real-time shipment tracking — GPS-linked live map for dispatchers and customers
  • Document management — automatic generation of CMR, e-CMR, delivery notes, and e-Transport declarations
  • e-Transport compliance — full ANAF integration, UIT lifecycle management
  • Carrier portal — carriers receive jobs, confirm pickups, and submit POD digitally
  • Driver & vehicle management — fleet overview, assignment history, availability
  • Role-based access control (RBAC) — granular permissions per user, team, or entity
  • Reporting & KPI dashboard— transport costs, on-time rates, carrier performance, document compliance
  • Multi-entity support — manage multiple companies or subsidiaries from one account

Does Deliwell use AI or automation to reduce manual work?

Yes. Deliwell automates the repetitive, error-prone tasks that slow logistics teams down:

  • Document auto-generation — CMR, e-CMR, e-Transport declarations, and delivery notes are created automatically when a transport is confirmed. No re-keying, no template hunting.
  • Status-triggered notifications — carrier status updates automatically alert your team and, optionally, your customers. Exception alerts fire when a shipment deviates from plan or misses an ETA window.
  • Route planning assistance — dispatchers receive optimised assignment suggestions based on vehicle capacity, driver availability, and destination clustering.
  • Compliance automation — UIT submission to ANAF and e-CMR signing workflows happen inside the platform with no manual portal access required.

We continue to develop intelligent features including predictive ETA modelling and anomaly detection — built on real operational data generated daily on the platform. The result: your team handles more transports with the same headcount, while your compliance documentation is always complete.

Does Deliwell offer real-time tracking for shipments?

Yes. Deliwell provides live GPS-linked tracking for every active shipment on a real-time map dashboard. Your logistics team sees where every truck is at any moment. Customers can receive automated status updates or access a dedicated tracking view — configured to show exactly the information they need, nothing more.

Tracking covers the full transport lifecycle: pickup confirmation, in-transit status, ETA updates, delivery confirmation, and proof of delivery. If a shipment deviates from its planned route or an ETA threshold is crossed, the system generates an alert to the relevant team member automatically — without anyone having to check manually.

Can I manage special transport operations — heavy, oversized, or hazmat loads?

Yes. Deliwell includes a Special Transport module for managing heavy, oversized, or hazardous goods shipments. This covers:

  • Multi-level approval workflows before transport execution
  • Permit and authorisation tracking per route or cargo type
  • Route-specific documentation requirements
  • Specific carrier and vehicle type assignment rules

The Special Transport module is available as an add-on to the Core platform. Contact us to discuss your specific requirements.

Can I work with transport suppliers from Romania, the EU, and outside the EU?

Yes — Deliwell is designed to manage a mixed carrier base across geographies. You can onboard and coordinate Romanian carriers, EU-based carriers (Czech, Hungarian, German, Bulgarian, etc.), and non-EU international carriers within the same platform.

Each carrier type may have different documentation and compliance requirements — Deliwell handles this at the transport level:

  • Romanian carriers — full e-Transport and e-CMR integration
  • EU carriers — e-CMR, digital POD, standard European transport documents
  • Non-EU carriers — manual or EDI-connected, with standard document management and tracking via mobile app or telematics

Carrier profiles are maintained centrally, with all relevant certifications, contact data, and performance history in one place. You assign the right carrier to the right load — regardless of where they are based.

We are a group of companies — can we manage several entities or sites in the same account?

Yes. Deliwell is built for multi-entity and multi-site operations. A parent company and its subsidiaries, operating companies within a transport group, or a shared services centre managing logistics for multiple business units can all operate on the same Deliwell instance — with controlled separation of data, users, and reporting.

This means:

  • Each entity has its own transport orders, documents, carriers, and KPI dashboards
  • Group-level administrators can see across all entities; site-level users see only their own data
  • Billing, reporting, and compliance can be managed per entity or consolidated at group level
  • New entities or sites can be added to an existing account without a separate implementation

Ideal for Romanian holding companies, multinational groups with Romanian operations, or shared logistics teams serving multiple legal entities.

Technical & integrations

Do I need an EDI or API connection to use Deliwell?

No — EDI and API connections are optional, not required. Deliwell is fully functional as a standalone web platform from day one. Your team can create transport orders, manage carriers, generate documents, and handle e-Transport compliance entirely through the browser interface — no technical integration required to get started.

For companies with existing ERP or WMS systems, API and EDI connections are available to automate data flows:

  • API integration — bidirectional data exchange between Deliwell and your ERP/WMS for orders, shipment status, and document sync
  • EDI connection — standardised messaging with carriers and logistics partners who use EDI-based systems
  • Flat-file / CSV import — for simpler batch data transfers where full API integration is not needed

Most clients start with the web interface and add API connections as a second step once the core platform is live.

Does Deliwell integrate with our ERP — SAP, Oracle, or Microsoft Dynamics?

Yes. Deliwell supports ERP and WMS integrations via REST API and EDI. We have successfully integrated with SAP, Oracle, and Microsoft Dynamics environments at enterprise clients across Romania and Europe.

The integration typically covers:

  • Inbound: transport orders and delivery data flowing from ERP into Deliwell
  • Outbound: shipment status, proof of delivery, and e-Transport confirmation flowing back to ERP
  • Document sync: CMR, e-CMR, and delivery notes accessible from within your ERP environment

Integration complexity and timeline depend on your ERP version and data model. This is scoped during the implementation phase — our technical team works directly with your IT counterpart. A dedicated integration specification document is provided as part of every enterprise implementation.

Can carriers connect to Deliwell, and how does that work?

Yes — carrier connectivity is central to how Deliwell works. Your existing carriers join the platform through a straightforward onboarding:

  • Carriers receive a registration link and complete a simple profile setup — no software installation required
  • They access Deliwell via web browser or mobile app to receive transport assignments, confirm pickups, update delivery status, and submit digital documents including e-CMR
  • For carriers already using EDI-based systems, automated data exchange is available so they don't need to change their existing workflows

Your entire carrier network can be connected within the first weeks of your implementation. Carriers who are new to digital platforms receive onboarding support from our team directly — we handle it, so you don't have to chase your carriers to join.

Does Deliwell have AI integrated in the platform?

Yes — Deliwell integrates intelligent automation and AI-assisted capabilities across key workflows. Current AI-powered features include:

  • Predictive ETA — estimated arrival times that adjust dynamically based on real-time traffic, route deviations, and historical carrier performance data
  • Anomaly detection — automatic flagging of shipments that deviate from expected route, timing, or status patterns, with alerts to the responsible dispatcher
  • Smart document generation — transport documents (CMR, e-CMR, e-Transport declarations) are auto-populated using order data, reducing manual entry errors to near-zero
  • Route optimisation suggestions — AI-assisted assignment recommendations for dispatchers, based on vehicle capacity, driver availability, and delivery clustering

We are actively expanding AI capabilities on the platform roadmap — including carrier performance scoring, demand-based planning, and automated exception resolution. The goal: give your team AI that handles the routine so they can focus on the decisions that actually require human judgment.

Does Deliwell work on mobile? Can drivers use it in the field?

Yes. Deliwell has a mobile-optimised interface for drivers and field teams available on iOS and Android. Drivers use the mobile app to:

  • View their assigned transports and route details
  • Confirm pickup and delivery events with GPS timestamp
  • Submit digital proof of delivery (POD) — photos, signatures, or scanned documents
  • Close e-CMR documents after delivery confirmation
  • Receive real-time alerts and dispatcher messages

The dispatcher dashboard — full planning, tracking, and reporting — is web-based and works on any modern browser, including tablets. No dedicated hardware or MDM setup is required for driver devices.

Does Deliwell support multimodal transport — rail, ocean, or air?

Deliwell is optimised for road transport — which is the dominant mode for Romanian and CEE logistics operations. Road freight, multi-stop distribution, and cross-border truck transport are where the platform delivers the deepest compliance and operational value.

For companies that manage intermodal flows with rail or ocean legs connecting to road distribution, Deliwell handles the road execution and last-mile segments of those flows — coordinating carriers, generating road-leg documents, and managing delivery confirmation.

If your primary transport challenge is ocean or rail-dominant, global platforms like Transporeon or project44 may offer a broader multimodal fit. If your operational core is road transport in Romania and the EU — with ANAF compliance as a non-negotiable — Deliwell is the stronger choice.

Onboarding & pricing

How long does implementation take?

Deliwell is designed for fast deployment — not a 12-month implementation project. Timelines depend on your setup:

  • Create your account and send your first transport request under 30 minutes
  • Standard setup (no ERP integration) — live in 1–2 weeks including carrier onboarding and team training
  • With ERP integration (SAP, Oracle, Microsoft Dynamics) — live in 4–6 weeks, including integration scoping, configuration, and parallel run

The implementation follows a structured process:

  • Days 1–3: Baseline audit — current process mapping, data model alignment, integration scoping
  • Week 1–2: Configuration — platform setup, carrier onboarding, user training
  • Week 2 (standard) or Week 4–5 (ERP): Parallel run — Deliwell runs live alongside existing tools so your team builds confidence before full cutover
  • Week 2 (standard) or Week 5–6 (ERP): Go-live and handover — full operation in Deliwell

We assign a dedicated project manager to your implementation from day one through go-live. No surprises, no scope creep.

Can we pilot Deliwell before committing to a full rollout?

Yes. We offer a structured 3-week Proof of Concept (POC) — Deliwell runs live on a defined scope of your operations (a specific route cluster, carrier group, or business unit), and we measure the results against your current baseline.

The POC produces concrete, comparable numbers: time saved per transport, compliance rate before and after, document error rate, and cost delta. You make the full rollout decision based on data — not promises.

The POC requires no long-term commitment. If the numbers don't justify a rollout, we say so and part as professionals. If they do — which is the typical outcome — we move directly into full implementation.

How is Deliwell priced?

Deliwell is priced as a monthly SaaS subscription, structured across three tiers:

  • Core — essential TMS, e-Transport, e-CMR, and document management for growing logistics teams
  • Growth — adds advanced planning, carrier portal, API integration, and multi-user management
  • Enterprise — full platform including multi-entity support, ERP/EDI integration, custom reporting, SLA, and dedicated account management

A one-time implementation fee applies for setup, configuration, and integration. Pricing is tailored to your transport volume, number of users, and feature requirements — we don't publish fixed list prices because a company running 20 transports per day and one running 2,000 have different needs and different fair prices.

Contact us for a tailored quote. We will give you a clear number — no hidden overage fees, no surprise costs after go-live.

Is there a minimum contract length?

Standard subscription agreements are annual — this provides the best per-month rate and ensures continuity of your compliance infrastructure. For larger enterprise engagements, multi-year agreements with fixed pricing and guaranteed SLA terms are available.

We don't offer month-to-month subscriptions for new clients — the implementation investment on both sides requires a minimum commitment period to be commercially fair. That said, if the POC does not deliver the expected results, we do not push you into a full contract.

What training and support is included?

All plans include:

  • Onboarding training — role-based sessions for dispatchers, planners, managers, and admins during implementation
  • Knowledge base — platform documentation in Romanian and English, covering all modules
  • Email support — tracked, with SLA-based response times by issue priority
  • Webinar training — quarterly sessions for new features and platform updates

Enterprise clients additionally receive:

  • A named account manager as single point of contact
  • Priority P1 escalation for critical operational incidents
  • Custom onboarding for large user rollouts or multi-site go-lives

Our support team is Romanian-speaking, based in Timișoara, and available Monday–Friday, 09:00–18:00 EET. Emergency escalation paths are available for P1 incidents outside business hours.

Trust, security & data

What data does Deliwell collect from drivers and carriers — and who can see it?

Deliwell collects shipment-level location data — GPS coordinates linked to an active transport order — not personal driver data. Tracking begins when a transport is assigned and confirmed, and ends automatically when the delivery is completed and the transport is closed. Driver identities, shift times, and driving hours are never shared with your customers or any third parties.Data access is governed by your organisation's role-based permissions (RBAC):

  • Your logistics team sees the full operational picture
  • Customer-facing views show only their specific shipment status — nothing else
  • Carriers see only their own assigned transports

All data is stored on AWS EU infrastructure, encrypted at rest and in transit, and governed by GDPR. A Data Processing Agreement (DPA) is included in every Deliwell contract as standard. If your IT security or legal team requires a Data Security Questionnaire, we provide one on request.

Where is our data hosted and how is it kept secure?

Deliwell is hosted on Amazon Web Services (AWS) with infrastructure located in the EU. Your transport data never leaves European jurisdiction. Security measures include:

  • Encryption at rest and in transit (TLS 1.2+)
  • Role-based access control at the application level
  • Regular vulnerability assessments and penetration testing
  • Automated backup and disaster recovery
  • Incident response procedures with defined communication SLAs

We operate under GDPR and a Data Processing Agreement is included in every contract. Enterprise clients can request a full security documentation pack as part of their procurement process.

Is Deliwell GDPR compliant?

Yes. Deliwell is fully GDPR compliant. Data protection is built into the platform architecture and every contractual relationship — not treated as a checkbox.Key compliance commitments:

  • EU data residency — all data is hosted on Amazon Web Services (AWS) infrastructure located within the EU. Your transport data never leaves European jurisdiction.
  • Data Processing Agreement (DPA) — included as standard in every Deliwell contract, covering roles, responsibilities, and data handling obligations between Deliwell and your organisation.
  • Encryption — data is encrypted at rest and in transit (TLS 1.2+) at all times.
  • Data minimisation — Deliwell collects only the data necessary to operate the transport management workflow. Driver GPS tracking, for example, is tied to active shipment orders only — not continuous personal monitoring.
  • Role-based access control (RBAC) — granular permissions ensure each user, team, or entity sees only the data relevant to their role. Customer-facing views show only their own shipment status.
  • Right to access and erasure — data subject rights requests are handled in accordance with GDPR requirements.
  • Security documentation — enterprise clients can request a full Data Security Questionnaire and security documentation pack as part of their procurement or legal review process.

If your legal or procurement team requires a completed DPA or a security questionnaire before contract signature, we provide both on request.

Who else is using Deliwell?

Deliwell is used by logistics and supply chain teams across a range of industries:

  • Soneparelectrical distribution
  • Hamiltonmanufacturing logistics
  • Frigoglass — cold chain and industrial logistics
  • DS Smith — packaging and supply chain
  • Stihl — power tools distribution
  • Inteva Products — automotive supply chain

Our clients are mid-size and enterprise companies where transport is operationally critical — not a back-office afterthought. We are happy to provide reference contacts from our client base for serious evaluations.

What is Deliwell's uptime commitment?

Deliwell targets a 99.9% monthly uptime SLA for the core platform. AWS infrastructure provides geographic redundancy, and our platform status is monitored continuously. In the event of an incident, we communicate proactively with affected customers through our status page and direct notification channels.

Enterprise clients receive enhanced SLA terms as part of their agreement, including defined RTO/RPO commitments and escalation procedures. Planned maintenance windows are communicated at least 48 hours in advance and scheduled outside peak operational hours.

I've read enough — how do I see Deliwell working for my operation?

The fastest way is a live demo tailored to your transport operation — we show you the platform using a workflow that mirrors your actual business. A first session takes 45–60 minutes and covers the modules most relevant to you.If you're evaluating seriously, we also offer a structured 3-week Proof of Concept — Deliwell runs live on a defined scope of your operations, with before/after KPI measurement. No long-term commitment required to start a POC.Book a demo, or contact us directly — we respond within one business day.
